Mechanical Supervisor

Location - Sidcup

Mechanical Supervisor required for M&E installation contractor. Providing the "best value" plumbing, heating and electrical services to the general public and local authorities and from that time has earned an impressive reputation, assembling considerable experience and expertise. Although social housing remains part of our business, success over the last thirty years has seen the company grow into one of the largest multi-disciplined Building Services Contractors operating throughout the UK.

Package:

* £45,000 to £50,000 Depending on experience
* 29 days holiday including the bank holidays

* Typical working hours Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00

Role:

* To supervise daily site activities in ensuring that contracts are completed on time and within cost, in accordance with health and safety regulations, and to the standards of workmanship required by the company and its customers.

Duties include:

* Check that the site/site office is organised to handle administration and operating requirements, and is kept clean and tidy at all times.
* To be responsible for effective and efficient delivery of site activities that meets the needs and objectives of the company.
* To review all project requirements as per agreed programme and specification.
* On a regular basis monitor and inspect the quality and progress of all subcontractors' work including builders/carpentry and Electrical works, and where it fails to meet requirements ensure it is rectified promptly.
* To be responsible for ensuring that the assigned project(s) are effectively run and managed to time, cost and quality.
* Inspect and pass all subcontracted work before signing completion certificates.
* Make sure that all site personnel, including main contractors and subcontractors, comply with health, safety, environmental and CDM regulations, and with the company's code of practice.
* Ensure that all specified inspections are carried out as scheduled, rectify any snags and maintain a record of causes and actions taken.
* Monitor progress of contract against dates targeted for valuations, commissioning, handover to client, to ensure that status and condition of installation will meet requirements.
* Attend site meetings with the various trades to prevent any co-ordination problems.
* To work closely with clients in ensuring their requirements are met or exceeded, attend progress meetings, record details, take appropriate action and record results.
* Take appropriate action to deal with any day-to-day work problems but contact the Project Manager/Engineer without delay on any matter requiring their advice, decision or action.

Ideally you will come from an M&E sub contractual background with a good understanding of residential.
