Due to career progression, my client is now looking for an Area Sales/ Merchant Representative to join this very well established, innovative and expanding organisation. With over 4,000 direct employees in 13 countries, and a part of a larger group in over 45 countries, you will be covering the territory of: East Anglia and North London Region

Area Merchant Representative

This role requires travel, customer / site visits

To ensure my client retains/improves market position

To ensure customer contact with existing and prospective customers in the merchant sector.

To seek the best commercial performance for my client within guidelines laid down by the Company.

Job Duties & Accountabilities

To always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.

Visit all customers as per the ranking and segmentation laid down by the company and as per the agreed journey plan.

Manage the price support & quote process for customers within the agreed budgets in the time frame directed.

Via training & documentation provided by the company ensure that you know and understand the companies products and systems and be able to provide technical back up to customers to a defined level.

Create Annual business development plans with relevant customers (Star and High Potential). Review business plans each visit and make sure actions are progressing.

Present and roll out trade marketing actions provided by the company with all customers and ensure feedback discuss performance on a branch by branch bases and establish corrective actions.

Follow up regional business plans and ensure customer sales targets and area budgets are achieved or exceeded.

Carry out Feature, Function, Benefit (FFB) training (existing and innovative products) with branch staff at the customers point of sales and attend/arrange various customer trade events as directed.

Update on a daily bases the companies CRM tool. Agenda, tasks, outcomes, leads, complaints, quotes, price support and project tracking.

Ensure all IDP actions as agreed with your line manager are completed in a timely manner.

Control personal overheads within / below budget.

Build professional relationships with all other departments

Act responsibly towards Company property.

Promote a positive image of my client in the market place

Any other appropriate tasks requested by your line manager.

Experience

Ability to sell on products by demonstration

A market knowledge of merchants would be advantageous.

Demonstrates knowledge of main competitors' activities in the market

Strong business understanding / acumen

Good organisation and time management skills

Excellent sales and negotiation skills

Excellent presentation skills - ability to deliver a "sales pitch" (verbal) and written

Excellent written and spoken communication skills being able to influence people at all levels of an organisation

Organises time, work and resources to accomplish objectives in the most effective and efficient way.

Plans and organises own time and work

Plans and organises own work load, setting and/or clarifying priorities and expectations.

Monitors the quality and timeliness of one’s work, appropriately using the resources available.

Seeks necessary information to clearly understand what is expected of you.

This role will require you to spend a weeks training at Head Office.

Full clean driving licence.

Basic salary to 35k , plus bonus, plus company car, laptop, mobile, Ipad, fuel card. 25 days holiday ( 3 to be kept for Christmas)
