Our client a local manufacturing company are looking for a Handyman / woman to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will be 40 hours per week, 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday.
Completing jobs on the Facilities Task List including plumbing, carpentry, painting, light-bulb changes and general building works.
Ensuring the task list is up to date with current status of tasks.
Complete scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning of gutters, door function checks, ladder inspections and taking meter readings.
Complete forms to show when works have been carried out/completed.
Assist in office moves as required.
Install, move and repair furniture.
Carry out weekly fire alarm testing.
Carry out weekly temperature checks of taps for Health and Safety.
Complete risk assessments for works and general tasks.
Attend training as required to support the job role ensuring training is up to date and valid at all times.
Assist contractors visiting the site to ensure relevant works can be completed.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff, management, visitors and contractors.
Ability to present information in a structured and balanced way.
Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes.
Experience in the building/maintenance trade.
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Ability to lift heavy objects as required.
Working at height.
A Qualification in a building or maintenance trade is desired. The ideal Candidate will be happy to attend training to support the job role.
