The Role: Lead Fire & Security Engineer

The Company

Our client was formed in 1996 and was initially set up to provide bespoke equipment to the police market. Since then, they have branched in to supplying a range of security products, to a wide range of different market sectors. We now look after sites ranging from residential houses, to primary schools, to large multi-site corporations.

Job Purpose & Description

Develop and produce site surveys, fire reporting, fire risk management and fire risk assessments and design of fire protection systems. Ensuring the specific needs of projects and clients are delivered within agreed timescales

Deliver service, maintenance and installation of fire systems and equipment that is in line with current standards Servicing of security systems and equipment to NSI requirements

Respond to demand service calls on all types of systems that is required for client and customer requirements At the completion of each installation ensure all documentation is completed, handed over and the acceptance

certificate is signed

At the completion of each service visit update the central helpdesk with the call status

Maintain a high level of personal performance demonstrating a willingness to help colleagues

Provide a highly reliable, courteous, efficient and effective service to Company clients and customers

Maintain a positive image of the Company through high standards of dress and customer communications

Provide good quality written reports of activities c Make recommendations for additions/replacements to improve

Provide accurate information to enable quotations to be prepared for the customer Ensure that any Company vehicle provided is maintained in good working order

Any other duty as may be required in line with operational requirements.

Main Duties, responsibilities & requirements

Completion of a series of nationally recognised fire training courses and/or be listed on the national recognised register of fire risk assessor, such as;

BAFE certified in service and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers or equivalent

ICEL (FIA) certified in emergency lighting or equivalent

FIA trained to BS 5839 standards in Fire detection design, fire system installation & testing and alarm system maintenance or equivalent

Familiarity with the processes for gaining FIA and BAFE accreditations

Excellent stakeholder communications skills, at all levels including customer facing skills Excellent organisational and planning skills

Able to work effectively in a safe and compliant manner

Flexibility to work additional hours when required , On-Call and staying away Professional attitude, smart and presentable

Basic administration skills for completing forms and timesheet recording Prepared to go through regular security screening

Open minded, positive can do attitude.
